Job Description:
Full Time (40 hrs/week) 3pm to 11:30pm Evening High School/GED Summary: To stock the daily surgical case carts according to protocols, perform decontamination duties in the decontamination room and main sterile area, and assist in maintaining adequate inventory of supplies. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Hospital experience required. Related experience preferred. Completion of on-the-job training required. Special Skills: Must have good hand-eye coordination, good communication skills in English, and good customer relation skills. Ability to work within time schedules and to read and write English. Ability to use effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergent situations. Ability to use effective problem-solving skills. Attentive to details and the ability to perform work accurately, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Supervision Expected: None Supervision Received: Direct and functional supervision from the Processing Coordinator, Operating Room. Working Conditions: Hospital environment. Requires lifting of 15-25 pound instrument trays into and out of deep sinks/ultrasonic chambers, moving bulky prepackaged products weighing 25-35 pounds, pushing and pulling of case carts and other equipment. Exposure to blood products, heavy lifting, strains, fatigue, heat-producing equipment, sharp objects, ethylene oxide, and other cleaning agents. OSHA: Bloodborne Pathogen Category I Employees in this job description are expected to have contact with bloodborne pathogens and as such they are required to be oriented and annually trained under the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration''s Bloodborne Pathogen Standard (CFR 1910.1030)
